Julianna is a professional dancer who grew up in River Forest, Illinois. She began her training at the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park, Illinois and continued her education at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated in December 2018 with a BFA in Dance and BBA in Accounting, with high distinction and Honors in both majors.
Julianna is currently a performing artist with Full Radius Dance, under the direction of Douglas Scott. She has had the opportunity to perform with the company at 7 Stages Theater, the High Museum of Art, and at the Queens Theater in New York City. She also pursues freelance work in Atlanta and has been honored to work with local choreographers like Nadya Zeitlin of Bautanzt Here, Julio Medina, and Patsy Collins. Julianna furthers her involvement in the dance community as a Board Member with DanceATL.
Julianna has trained extensively in ballet, contemporary, modern, and Graham. She furthered her studies at summer dance programs with DanceWorks Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Company, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and AXIS Dance Company, among others. Most recently, she attended a summer intensive at Orsolina28 in Moncalvo, Italy. While there, she learned William Forsythe and Crystal Pite repertory and choreographic methods.
Julie performed in "Counter Balance: The Power of Physically Integrated Dance" in works by acclaimed choreographer Alice Sheppard. At the collegiate level, Julianna has been honored to perform works by renowned choreographers like Monica Bill Barnes, Rennie Harris, and Martha Graham, to name a few. She has traveled to New York City to perform at the Joyce Theater and Ailey Citigroup Theater. In 2016, Julianna was selected to join Dancer's in Company, UIowa's resident touring company. She traveled throughout the Midwest to teach and perform for diverse audiences in unique venues.
While at the University of Iowa, Julianna was the President of the Undergraduate Dance Organization (UDO, 2017-2018), which managed events and improved day-to-day activities within the Dance Department. While a member of UDO, Julianna also organized and facilitated dance workshops for people of all ages and abilities in 2015 and 2017.
