Julianna is a professional dancer based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a performing artist with Monica Hogan Danceworks and pursues freelance work. Julianna is proud to have been featured as “One to Watch” in ArtsATL’s 2024 Fall Arts Preview. The full article can be viewed here.
As a freelance dancer in Atlanta, Julianna has had the opportunity to work with local choreographers like Julio Medina, Patsy Collins, Meaghan Novoa, and Nadya Zeitlin of Bautanzt Here, among others. She was a dance artist with Full Radius Dance for five seasons.
Julianna has been honored to perform historical modern works by renowned choreographers like José Limón, Martha Graham, and Doris Humphrey. She has worked with prominent contemporary choreographers like Alice Sheppard, Monica Bill Barnes, and Rennie Harris, to name a few.
She has also presented her own choreographic works in Atlanta. In 2023, she premiered her solo, From Within, at Spectra: Volume 1, a festival hosted by Monica Hogan Danceworks. She also choreographed Fall of Grace on the students of Rise City Dance, which was selected to be performed at the 2023 Fall for Fall Dance Festival.
In addition to dance, Julianna is also a martial artist and action performer. She began training seriously in Muay Thai in 2022 at her home gym, EverReady Muay Thai. In 2024, she performed as an action artist in the Atlanta Opera's production of Die Walkure, directed by Tomer Zvulun and choreographed by Ran Arthur Braun. As an active member of the Atlanta dance community, Julianna enjoys working with artists of many disciplines and backgrounds. She furthers her involvement in the dance community as the Board Treasurer with DanceATL, a non-profit organization that provides resources and programming for local dance artists.
Julianna grew up in River Forest, Illinois. She began her training at the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park, Illinois and continued her education at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated in December 2018 with a BFA in Dance and BBA in Accounting, with high distinction and Honors in both majors.
Julianna has trained extensively in ballet, contemporary, modern, and Graham. She furthered her studies at summer dance programs with DanceWorks Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Company, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and AXIS Dance Company, among others. In 2019, she studied at Orsolina28 in Moncalvo, Italy. While there, she learned William Forsythe and Crystal Pite repertory and choreographic methods.
In addition to her dance career, Julianna is also the Principal of Balance Point, LLC which provides business consulting services for small businesses and non-profits.
